Electrical Reactor Product Categories

Different electrical systems require different reactor structures and electrical characteristics.
DOREXS provides multiple reactor types for VFD systems, power converters, motor drives, industrial equipment and power quality applications.

Filter Reactors

Filter reactors are used as inductive elements in harmonic filtering and power quality circuits.
Depending on the circuit topology, they may work together with capacitors or other components to control harmonic currents and improve the electrical behavior of the power system.
Filter reactor design must be matched carefully to system voltage, current, frequency, inductance and the intended filtering function.

AC Input Reactors

AC Input Reactors

AC input reactors, also called line reactors, are installed between the AC power supply and the input of a VFD, inverter or other power converter.
By adding impedance to the input circuit, an AC input reactor can help reduce current peaks, mitigate input current harmonics and provide additional protection against certain power-line disturbances.

AC Output Reactors

AC output reactors are installed between the output of a VFD or inverter and the motor.
They add inductance to the motor circuit and can help reduce PWM-related voltage stress, current ripple and high-frequency disturbances reaching the motor.
Output reactors may be useful where motor cable conditions, switching characteristics or motor insulation requirements make additional output impedance desirable.

High-Frequency Reactors

High-Frequency Reactors

High-frequency reactors are inductive power components designed for circuits operating above conventional 50/60Hz power frequency.
They may be used in switching converters, inverters and other high-frequency power electronic circuits for functions such as current smoothing, energy storage, ripple control or harmonic management.
The required magnetic core, winding structure, inductance and thermal design depend strongly on switching frequency and operating conditions.

Current Limiting Reactors

Current limiting reactors introduce additional inductive impedance into an electrical circuit to restrict rapid increases in current.
They may be used where control of inrush current, fault current or transient current is required.
The correct reactor must be selected according to system voltage, rated current, required inductance and the electrical characteristics of the application.

DC Reactors

DC Reactors

DC reactors are inductive components installed in DC circuits or the DC link of power electronic equipment.
They are commonly used to smooth current, reduce ripple and limit rapid current changes in rectifiers, converters, VFDs and other power electronic systems.
DOREXS provides standard and customized DC reactor solutions for different current and system requirements.

Series / Detuned Reactors

Series reactors can be connected in series with capacitor banks in reactive power compensation systems.
An appropriately selected reactor helps shift the resonant frequency of the capacitor circuit and can reduce the risk of harmonic amplification and excessive harmonic current flowing through the capacitors.
The required reactance rate should be selected according to the harmonic environment and system design.

Reactor Manufacturing & Customization Capabilities

Selecting a reactor is not simply a matter of choosing a current rating.

The reactor must be matched to the electrical system, converter topology, switching characteristics, load and operating environment.

DOREXS can evaluate standard and custom reactor configurations according to the main project requirements.
